1. Turn off the lights before replacing the bulbs.

2. Loosen the mounting bolts (A) in the area of ​​the cabin step using a T30 Torx key.

3. Remove the plastic headlight corner trim (B).

4. Remove the mounting bolts (C) on the front side of the headlights using a T45 Torx key.

5. Remove the rubber cap from the lamp being replaced (D or E).

6. Disconnect the lamp connector.

7. Press the lamp holder down and remove the lamp.

Note
The parking light bulb (F) is replaced in a similar manner.

8. Install the new bulb into the reflector socket. If the bulb is installed correctly, it should not rotate in the reflector.

Caution :
Do not touch the glass of the lamps with bare hands. If this happens, wipe the lamp thoroughly with a dry, clean cloth.

9. Press the lamp holder upwards to lock it into place in the recess.

10. Connect the connector.

11. Carefully install the rubber cap.

12. Secure the rubber tab into the recess and install the headlight so that the mounting bolts (C) are located at the front. Make sure that the headlight clips are securely fastened in the recesses.

13. Install the plastic headlight corner trim and secure it with bolts.

Xenon lamps

  1.  Xenon ignition unit.
  2.  Ballast block.

When replacing xenon lamps, the following safety precautions must be observed:

  • Turn off the lights.
  • Turn off the ignition.
  • Be sure to disconnect the power supply to the lighting system by removing the low beam headlight fuse.
  • Wait at least 3 minutes to allow the lamps to cool before starting work.

Warning :
– Failure to observe safety precautions when working with xenon lamps may result in electric shock or burns.
– The xenon lamp becomes very hot during operation. Do not touch the xenon lamp with bare hands, even when it is turned off – the skin oil from your hands may damage the lamp or reduce its service life when the lamp heats up. If this does happen, wipe the lamp with methyl alcohol.
– Xenon lamps are filled with gas under high pressure. If the bulb is damaged, there is a risk of the lamp exploding, which may cause serious injury. Handle xenon lamps with care.

Note:
Xenon lamps are used only in low beam headlights. Halogen lamps are installed in high beam headlights.

1. Remove fuses E004 and E005.

2. Loosen the mounting bolts in the area of ​​the cabin step using a Torx T30 key.

3. Remove the plastic corner trim from the headlight.

4. Remove the mounting bolts on the front side of the headlights using a T45 Torx wrench.

5. Remove the rubber cap.

6. Turn the ignition unit counterclockwise, the lamp connector will automatically unlock and be removed from the ignition unit.

7. Pull the ignition unit towards you.

8. Press the lamp holder down and remove the lamp.

Caution :
Xenon lamps contain mercury and must be disposed of as chemical waste.

9. Install the new bulb into the reflector socket. If the bulb is installed correctly, it should not rotate in the reflector.

10. Install the ignition unit strictly perpendicular to the headlight (the arrow on it should point to the left), then turn it clockwise so that the arrow on the unit body points up.

11. Connect the connector.

Note
The connector cannot be connected if the xenon lamp ignition unit is not installed correctly.

12. Carefully install the rubber cap.

13. Secure the rubber tab into the recess and install the headlight so that the mounting bolts (C) are located at the front. Make sure that the headlight clips are securely fastened in the recesses.

14. Install the plastic headlight corner trim and secure it with bolts.

15. Replace fuses E004 and E005.

Note:
Contact your DAF dealer to have the headlights adjusted as soon as possible.

Rear lights DAF-XF105

A. Side light.

B. Direction indicator.

C. Stop signal.

D. License plate light.

E. Side light.

F. Rear fog light.

G. Reversing light.

To replace any of the rear light bulbs, remove the cover (1) from the housing (2).

Note:
The license plate light bulb can be replaced by removing the bulb holder (moving it backwards).
