Toll roads
All roads in Andorra are free. There is no road toll in Andorra for cars registered in another country. Only the passage through the Envalira tunnel is subject to payment.

The Envalira tunnel runs between the town of Pas de la Casa, near the French border, and the famous ski resort of Grau Roig. The length of the tunnel is 2.879 m. The lowest point of the tunnel is 2.043 m, and the highest point is 2.054 m. It is one of the highest tunnels in Europe.

The Envalira tunnel has two lanes (one in each direction) and a maximum speed limit of 40 to 70 km/h.

Parking in Andorra
It is recommended to park in specially designated places or your hotel’s parking lot.
All parking in the capital of Andorra la Vella is paid. Street parking is free only on Sundays and public holidays.
In case of violation of parking rules, the car will be towed to the parking lot. Since Andorra is a small country, there is always a tow truck nearby!

The maximum permissible level of alcohol in the blood is 0.5 ‰ .
If the blood alcohol level is between 0.5 ‰ and 0.8 ‰, a fine of €400 will be imposed.
If the blood alcohol level is over 0.8‰, a fine of €600 will be imposed and the driver’s license will be revoked for up to 2 months.

Low light
Low beam is not mandatory when driving during the day. Dipped beam should be switched on in conditions of poor visibility caused by bad weather. Fog lights are allowed to be used only in case of fog, snow or heavy rain.

Transportation of children
Children under 10 years of age and less than 150 cm tall are not allowed to ride in the front seats. They can only travel in the back seats of the car, using appropriate child restraints suitable for their weight.
It is allowed to transport children up to 3 years old in the front seats using special restraint systems, provided that the airbag is turned off.
Children’s car seats must comply with UNECE Regulation No. 44 – “Uniform prescriptions for restraints for children in motor vehicles”.

The use of seat belts is mandatory for all passengers (including passengers in the back seats).

It is forbidden to limit the visibility of the windshield and side glass of the car, reducing their transparency.
The degree of light transmittance of the glasses must comply with UNECE Rules No. 43 “Uniform prescriptions for safe materials for glazing and their installation on vehicles” — 75% for the windshield, 70% for the side windows.

Leaded petrol (98), unleaded petrol (95 and 98) and diesel are available in Andorra. There are no gas stations (liquefied propane).

Winter equipment
Winter tires
The use of winter tires in Andorra is mandatory under appropriate weather conditions (the road is completely or partially covered with snow or ice).
Law enforcement officers have the right to prohibit the movement of vehicles whose tires do not meet winter road conditions, and they may pose a danger to other road users.
If, under such conditions, the vehicle is not equipped with winter tires, the violator will be fined €500.
Studded tires
