Public holidays in Spain in 2026
There are a total of 14 public holidays in Spain each year . These holidays are distributed as follows:
- 8 national holidays, the same throughout Spain.
- 4 regional holidays to be chosen by the autonomous communities.
- 2 local holidays managed by city councils.
Thus, there are eight common holidays throughout the territory . The remaining non-working days usually vary depending on the region, as the regional government usually uses them to celebrate Community Day or the patron saints of the cities, among other things.
