San Marino Autostrada

The Autostrada of the Republic of San Marino (also simply Autostrada) is the main road of the Republic of San Marino.

The main road is the San Marino highway, which in Italy becomes the state road 72 San Marino, which connects the city of San Marino with Rimini. Alternatively, San Marino can be reached via the following Italian provincial roads

It touches the castles of Borgo Maggiore, Domagnano and Serravalle and connects San Marino with Rimini, as well as with Italy. The road, also built together with the SS 72 after World War II, is 8,900 km long and has a typically hilly layout consisting of curves and 6 roundabouts. It consists of two lanes for each direction of traffic. It was built by Italy: work began on August 10, 1959 and was inaugurated in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic, Giuseppe Saragatta, and the Captains-regent Pietro Giansecchi and Aldo Zavoli on November 25, 1965. Its width is 18 meters (the length of each carriageway is 7 meters), an average of 1,500 vehicles pass through it per hour.
