The total length of roads in Turkey is 426,000 km. of which 177,550 km are paved roads, and the length of toll roads is 3,060 km. As a rule, most toll roads have a free alternative, but the cost of travel on them is not high and saving in these cases is not worth it. Toll roads in Turkey are of high quality, have two or more lanes in one direction and have a speed limit of 120 km/h.
The entrances and exits to toll roads are equipped with automatic gates, each passage has its own markings such as  OGS, HGS, NAKiT and K.KARTI payment.

Payment types
-OGS  – automatic payment system using a transponder. This format is becoming less and less popular and is slowly disappearing.
-HGS  – this is a windshield sticker to which an account is tied. When using this payment method, you do not need to stop, you simply drive through the checkpoint and the payment is automatically debited from the account. If everything went well, the payment was debited and the d/s on it was enough, the green signal will light up, otherwise the red signal will light up, this is for informational purposes, you can continue driving, but do not forget to top up your account or pay for the toll section of the road in another way.
You can purchase such a sticker at the “Click and Talk” post office, where the account is topped up.
– Gates with the inscriptions “NAKiT” and “K.KARTI”.
Cash or card payment.  Such gates are not installed on all toll sections.

If you don’t have a sticker and can’t pay in cash on the spot, you can safely drive through and pay the toll by mail within 2 weeks or on the official website of the toll roads of Turkey (for this you will need a Turkish bank card), also when registering the sticker, the toll fee before its registration should be debited from your account (this option didn’t work for me, at the border when leaving, the policeman asked about it, but because the amount was 15 liras, he waved his hand and let it go)
