The largest mobile operators in Argentina are Claro , Personal and Movistar. The first two have more coverage, but to get a SIM card with a passport or DNI you will have to visit an office. And with Movistar you can buy it at any kiosk and then activate it online, but the operator’s coverage is smaller.
Here’s how much the tariff for 2 GB of Internet and free traffic in WhatsApp costs:
- Personal – 400 ARS ;
- Claro – 350 ARS ;
- Movistar – 230 ARS.
I use Tuenti services , but they do not issue them without DNI. My SIM card is registered to a young man. The operator is not that big, it does not have coverage everywhere, and it is no different in cost from those listed.
The most profitable way to top up your account is at the machines in kiosks or other points that accept payments from your operator. If you pay on the website or through the application, it is advisable to have a local bank card. Payment from foreign cards will be debited at the official rate.
