Checking and replacing fuses Citroen C4
The electrical circuits in the car are protected from short circuits by fuses. This greatly reduces the chance of damage due to electrical problems.
To check the fuse, look at the silver strip inside the fuse. If the strip is broken or melted, replace the fuse. Be sure to replace the faulty fuse with a new one of the same size and rating.
Fuses of the same amperage may be temporarily taken from another fuse location if the fuse is blown. Replace the fuse as soon as possible.
Before replacing a fuse:
- the cause of the malfunction must be identified and corrected;
- all electricity consumers must be disconnected;
- the vehicle must be immobilized with the ignition off;
- Identify the faulty fuse using the tables and diagrams on the following pages.
To replace the fuse you need to:
- Use special tweezers to remove the fuse from the housing and check the condition of the filament.
- Always replace a defective fuse with a fuse of the same rating (same colour); Using a fuse of a different rating may cause a malfunction (risk of fire).
- If the fault recurs shortly after replacing the fuse, contact your CITRON dealer or a qualified service center to have the electrical system checked.
