Buenos Aires International Airport

The airport, which mainly receives flights from Europe and the USA, is called “Minister Pistarini International Airport Ezeiza” (Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini), also known as “Ezeiza Airport”, also known as “Minister Pistarini Airport”, also known as EZE. It is located 32 kilometers from the center of Buenos Aires. It takes half an hour to an hour to get to the capital by car.

Buenos Aires Domestic Airport

This airport serves domestic flights as well as flights from Brazil and Chile. It is called “Aeroparque Metropolitano Jorge Newbery International Airport” (Aeroparque Metropolitano Jorge Newbery), also known as “Aeroparque”, or AEP. This airport is located within the city limits on the banks of the La Plata River. The center of Buenos Aires can be reached in 10-20 minutes by car, and 20-40 minutes by bus.

How to get from Ezeiza Airport to Buenos Aires

Taxi
At the exit from the sterile zone you will see several stands where you can order a taxi from the airport to your hotel or rented apartment. You can pay for such a taxi right there, at the stand, in cash pesos, dollars or by bank card. In return, you will receive a receipt for payment and you will not need to pay the taxi driver. Well, unless you yourself want to leave him a tip. This is not practiced in Argentina, but American tourists quite often thank taxi drivers for helping with luggage. This option is justified if you have heavy suitcases, if there are more than 2 of you or you do not want to use public transport.

How to get a taxi from the airport to Buenos Aires
There is a taxi counter in the Ezeiza terminal as in the photo. An official taxi from the airport to the city center costs 3,000 pesos (30 USD as of February 2024). You can check current prices at this link on the official taxi website. To order a taxi, you need to go to the counter and give the address of your destination. You can pay for the trip in cash in pesos, USD, Euros (I recommend using small bills, because the rest will be in pesos at a bad exchange rate), or by card. The operator will give you a receipt and ask you to wait for the driver. The driver will come to the counter for you and take you to the car. You do not need to pay the driver any money, except for a tip.

Public transport
Previously, bus number 8 ran from the airport to Buenos Aires, there is no longer such an option to get to the center of Buenos Aires from Esseisa. You can only get to the center of the capital by public transport with transfers. All of them are easy and very accurate, down to the time interval, searchable on Google Maps . And I can’t call any of these options safe or fast.

Shuttle bus
Tickets for the Manuel Tienda Leon shuttle can be purchased at the airport at the counter or on the website. For cash or by card. On their website (link opens in a new tab) they offer several transfer options, which can be paid for there by bank card.

If you want to get from the airport to the city, then you need the option De Aeropuerto Ezeiza a Terminal Madero . The price includes your luggage, as well as free (albeit slow) WiFi on board.

The cost of such a trip is 1000 pesos ($5-10 as of February 2024) . But further from the terminal, which is located, to put it mildly, far from the center, you will have to take a taxi to the hotel (or understand how public transport works). Of the pluses, the bus goes quite quickly (the journey to the city will take about an hour ), it is comfortable, but if there are three of you, it is better to take a taxi.

How to get from Jorge Newbery Airport to Buenos Aires

All ways to get from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery city airport to Buenos Aires

Essentially, if you fly into Jorge Newbery Airport or Aeroporque, you are flying into Buenos Aires. The airport is located within the city limits and, although not connected to it by a metro line, is well connected by convenient city buses, the network of which entangles the entire capital. The only argument against using city buses is the massive luggage that travels with you.

Taxi
You can catch a taxi from the airport right  on the street  . There is a floating rate for taxis, which you can get by scanning the QR code in the queue for boarding and selecting your destination in the form on the website. When boarding, you will show the driver the QR code with the price you received by mail or on the website. You will pay the exact amount that the service gives you when you leave.

The main drawback of the system is that the waiting time for a taxi can be an hour or more.

Buses
The bus depots, from which all city buses depart, are located to the right of the airport exit, literally a 50-150 meter walk on the same side of the street as the airport. To find the bus you need, simply enter your destination address in

Google Maps  and plan a route using public transportation.
