General information about road tolls in the UK
In the UK, tolls are charged on the M6 north of Birmingham, over some bridges and tunnels, in historic Durham and in the Congestion Zone, ULEZ and Greater London Low Emission Zone. Outside these areas, the UK road network is free. In addition, Birmingham and Bristol are charging older vehicles with Clean Air Zones (CAZs), while other cities will introduce new CAZs. CAZ in Bath only applies to commercial vehicles and buses.

The prices are indicated for the entire length of the M6 toll road. Tolls will be lower on shorter sections. Tolls at toll booths can only be paid by credit or debit card. In addition, it is possible to rent an electronic transmitter (“Tag”) with a prepaid balance, which is mounted on the inside of the windshield.

Dartford Bridge (M25)
The Dartford Crossing includes two tunnels and a suspension bridge – the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, located over the Thames to the east of London. They connect Grace in Essex in the north with Dartford in Kent in the south.

Dunham Bridge carries the A57 over the River Trent and connects Newton-on-Trent with Dunham-on-Trent.
The toll station is on the east bank in Newton-on-Trent.

Merseyside Gate and Silver Jubilee Bridge (A533)
The Mersey Gateway Bridge and the older Silver Jubilee Bridge (also known as Runcorn Bridge) cross the River Mersey within a few miles of each other, connecting Widnes and Runcorn.

The Tamar Bridge connects Saltash (Cornwall) and Plymouth (Devon) across the Tamar River.

Mersey Tunnel (A59/A41)
The older Queensway Tunnel runs under the River Mersey, connecting Liverpool and Birkenhead (A41). The Kingsway Junior Tunnel (A59) lies further towards the estuary and connects Liverpool to Wallasey.

Tyne Tunnels (A19)
Both Tyne Tunnels are part of the A19 route and connect Jarrow with North Shields. In addition, there is a free pedestrian tunnel.

The toll can be paid online, by phone, in cash at pay-in-advance points or by midnight on the day of using the pass. There is no longer a toll station on the bridge itself.
City Councils and Clean Air Zones in the UK
London
Summary of key information:
All drivers of vehicles, except motorbikes, must pay a toll to travel in central London.
Area:
Central London is a congestion charge zone. Entry and parking fees on public roads are mandatory. This zone is marked by road signs or markings on the road (white C on a red background) and monitored by cameras.
Note. In London, there is a surcharge for older vehicles up to 3.5t in the ULEZ and for camper vans and large commercial vehicles in the Low Emission Zone (LEZ). Details below.
Applies to vehicles:
the fee applies to all vehicles except two-wheeled vehicles (motorcycles, including sidecars) and mopeds.
Hours of operation:
the toll zone is open from Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (not valid from December 25 to January 1). Outside these hours, all vehicles can enter and leave without restrictions and without payment.
The congestion charge can be paid 90 days before, on the day of use and by midnight on the third day after the trip. The fee can be paid online or over the phone. After paying the daily rate, you can enter and leave the zone as much as you like during the day.

The Bath Clean Air Zone (CAZ) currently only applies to commercial vehicles and buses, not passenger cars.
Birmingham (Clean Air Zone)

Birmingham city center within the A4540 Middleway Ring Road is a Clean Air Zone (CAZ). Only vehicles that meet certain emission standards can enter for free, older vehicles must pay a daily rate. Vehicle registration is not required. Middleway itself is not part of CAZ.

the CAZ zone operates all year round, 24 hours a day.

Payment can be made online or by phone on 0300 029 8888, up to six days before entry, on the day of use and up to six days after entry to the CAZ.

Rail road transport in Great Britain
From Calais to Folkestone and vice versa, vehicles are transported through the Eurotunnel by train, it runs all year round, 24 hours a day. Up to four shipments per hour are possible. Travel time is 35 minutes.
