Other comments

In addition to these celebrations,  all Sundays  , with some exceptions, are considered official holidays; there are also  local holidays  , such as the feast of the city’s patron saint or the anniversaries of certain historical events, especially the liberation of the city from a foreign invader, which may be non-working days at the local level.

Ultimately, this is not directly related to holidays, but it is important to know that in Greece, shops operate continuously every other day, which means that on these days, opening hours are extended in the morning, but shops will be closed during the day. The days affected vary by location and can be Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday. Similarly, continuous opening hours also apply to certain services on all working days of the week.
