Public holidays in Spain in 2026

There are a total of 14 public holidays in Spain each year   . These holidays are distributed as follows:

  • 8 national holidays, the same throughout Spain.
  • 4 regional holidays to be chosen by the autonomous communities.
  • 2 local holidays managed by city councils.

Thus, there are eight common holidays throughout the territory  . The remaining non-working days usually vary depending on the region, as the regional government usually uses them to celebrate Community Day or the patron saints of the cities, among other things.
