Speed limit
Standard speed limits in Georgia (unless otherwise indicated on signs). Cars and motorcycles:
- in the settlement – 60 km/h
- outside the settlement – 90 km/h
- on the highway – 110 km/h
Cars with a trailer:
- in the settlement – 60 km/h
- outside the settlement – 70 km/h
- on the highway – 80 km/h

Alcohol
The maximum permissible level of alcohol in the blood is 0.3 ‰ .
If the level of alcohol in the blood exceeds the permissible limit, the driver will be fined GEL 700 (€ 231) or deprived of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of up to 6 months.
If the driver was under 18 years of age at the time of the violation, the term of deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle will be 1 year.
Transferring the right to drive a vehicle to a person who is intoxicated or under the influence of drugs is punishable by a fine of GEL 1,000 (€ 330).
If driving under the influence of alcohol causes damage to a building and/or causes minor bodily injury to a person, as well as in an attempt to avoid a drug or alcohol test, the driver will be disqualified from driving for a period of 3 years.

Low light
Low beam is mandatory in the dark or in conditions of poor visibility.
When driving in conditions of insufficient visibility or on narrow roads with a large number of turns, the fog lights can be turned on together with the high or low beams.

Transportation of children
It is forbidden to transport children younger than 12 years old in the front seat of a car, as well as as a passenger on a moped or motorcycle
Children under the age of 3 can be transported in a vehicle only in a special child restraint device that corresponds to their weight.
It is allowed to transport children under the age of 3 in a passenger car using a child car seat or on the lap of a passenger under the age of 16 sitting in the back seat of the passenger car. The specified passenger must use a seat belt. One passenger can hold only one child on his lap.
It is forbidden to leave children under the age of 6 in parked cars without adult supervision.
The fine is GEL 40 (€ 13).

Safety belts
The use of seat belts is mandatory for front passengers.
Passengers in the rear seats of the vehicle must not wear seat belts.

Driving a motorcycle or moped without a helmet is a fine of GEL 100 (€33).
Phone conversation
It is forbidden to use a telephone device that is not equipped with a technical device that allows for hands-free conversations while the vehicle is in motion.

Tinting
Driving a vehicle with glass transmittance that does not meet technical standards is punishable by a fine of GEL 50 (€17).
In case of repeated violation within a year – a fine of GEL 100 (€33).
In the case of the third violation within a year – deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for six months.
Fines
The crew of the patrol car consists of two police officers. During patrolling, the flashing beacon must always be on.
Since July 1, 2017, a system of points for violating traffic rules has been introduced in Georgia. Every year, 100 points are awarded to each driver, which will be reduced in the event of a violation. As soon as the points are zeroed, there will be a 1-year disqualification.
This rule also applies to foreign drivers. They are also given 100 points for the first (in the current year) border crossing. In case of resetting, the driver will be prohibited from driving a vehicle in Georgia. Owners of such rights will have to apply to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia to regain their driving license.
Also, since July 1, 2017, hidden patrols of cars without identification marks, equipped with radar and means for photo and video recording, have appeared on certain sections of highways.
