Tolls and vignettes in Poland
Motorway tolls in Poland are calculated based on the distance traveled. It is collected at toll stations depending on the motorway operator, without the need to have a vignette.
General information about road tolls in Poland
Tolls are charged on privately financed motorways, i.e. z licensed highways (A1 Rusocin-Nova Ves, A2 Świecko-Konin and A4 Katowice-Krakow). From July 2023, the state-funded motorways (A2 Konin–Strykuw and A4 Belyany-Wrocławski–Sosnica) are free for vehicles with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tonnes.
Vehicles (including vehicles with trailers) with a gross weight of more than 3.5 tonnes are subject to toll on both privately and publicly funded motorways, expressways and national roads.

In Poland, motorcycles with trailers are classified in a higher category.
Road charges for sets in Poland
Sets (tractor + trailer) weighing more than 3.5 tons must use the e-TOLL electronic toll collection system on public roads.
Sets with tractor units equipped with double cars belong to the highest category on routes financed from private sources.
Tolls for campers in Poland
Vehicles with dual tires and/or dual axles (counted as two axles) are classified higher on privately funded routes.
Campers weighing more than 3.5 tons must use the electronic toll collection system e-TOLL.

How to pay for roads in Poland
On privately funded sections of road, tolls can be paid directly at toll booths by cash or credit/debit card (Maestro or V PAY). Euros are accepted, but only in the form of banknotes, and the change is returned in Polish zlotys.
To facilitate payment without stopping, the A1 motorway operates the AmberGo system, which records vehicle registration numbers. The A4Go payment device is available on the A4 motorway.

Toll for vehicles over 3.5 tons in Poland
On privately funded sections of road, tolls for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are collected at toll stations where you can pay by cash or credit/debit card.
In turn, tolls are collected only through the e-TOLL system on publicly funded roads. Vehicle registration in the e-TOLL system is required, which can be done online or on-site. Payments are made through the e-TOLL PL application, the OBU device or the external location determination device (ZSL) installed in the vehicle. It is no longer possible to use the viaBOX device from viaTOLL.
The amount of the fee depends on the road category, the permissible total weight of the vehicle/car combination and the Euro emission class. The duty calculator is used to calculate the amount.
